Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Policy

At Ground Masters we shall ensure all personnel understand bullying, discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated and is a serious contravention of the nation’s legislative guidelines as well as a violation of the company’s principles pertaining to mutually respectful relationships as outlined in the mission statement.

This document shall provide a brief overview of workplace discrimination and harassment and define the key components of this policy.

Ground Masters is committed to achieving equal opportunity for all employees and providing a work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Workers have the right to be treated fairly and respectfully whilst undertaking work on behalf of Ground Masters.

Ground Masters always expects workers to behave in a professional manner and treat each other with respect especially when dealing with other workers, customers, contractors, suppliers, and the general public.

Discrimination of any description will not be tolerated by Ground Masters at any Ground Masters site and is against company policy and the law. Unlawful discrimination refers to an action which has the effect of treating one person less favourably than another (i.e., sex/sexual orientation) whilst racial discrimination refers to an action which has the effect of treating a person differently from another (i.e., race, nationality).

Harassment, and more specifically, sexual harassment, will not be tolerated by Ground Masters. Ground Masters acknowledges that sexual harassment does not refer to behaviour that is mutually acceptable to the parties involved. Friendships (whether sexual or otherwise) are a private concern. Ground Masters promotes a work environment where employees should not be subjected to sexual harassment, whether that be through requests or comments of a sexual nature, overt sexual displays, or through the display of sexually explicit images in the workplace.

Ground Masters accepts that it has a responsibility to create an environment free from bullying, discrimination and harassment and supports the rights of individuals to be free from harassment (including that of a sexual nature).

To this end, Ground Masters will ensure that its structures are free from direct or indirect bullying, discrimination, and harassment on the grounds of sex, marital status or pregnancy, race, age, sexual orientation, gender, history, religious or political beliefs, impairment, family responsibility or family status.

This policy recognises that there is a collective responsibility binding management, workers, and visitors to the achievement of these objectives.

All individuals have a responsibility to contribute towards an environment of trust and respect which forms the basis of appropriate professional relationships.

This policy shall be reviewed at regular and planned intervals including a review of its effectiveness.
